12. Uniqueness II: Dryness

Within the same tree, each leaf is unique, although, from a distance, they all look the same. It can be seen especially in the fall: leaves change color, dry, and wrinkle differently. The three leaves here are my three embryos; all three parts of me, all three different, all three detained in their own distinctive stages.

Dry leaves don’t last forever. Their broken remains tend to spread with the rain and wind. We only have their memory left, which we remember every autumn if we do at all.

And perhaps that tiny seed, still green and not entirely developed, may succeed.
