Kintsugi is a Japanese technique for repairing objects. Instead of throwing away the broken plate or vase, its memory is honored and restored, usually with some substance mixed with gold. They believed that breaks are part of the object’s history, and far from being hidden, they must be displayed with a given value. That is why they use gold, providing worth and shine.
In the same way, I do not intend at any time to hide my interior holes, that void that hurt. They are there, it is evident. It is necessary to try to embrace them, embellish them, and give them identity, although sometimes it is not possible to deal with them all.
They are part of the journey.
