Giving order to the forms and finding meaning in their chaos is a way of controlling them. Full and empty are opposite qualities, so alternating them creates a pattern. It is something we can recognize and contrast. It also puts the two parts on the same ground, equates them, and makes their value the same at the same time.
This pattern gives me a strange feeling, as if holes and paper belong to something with the possibility of being new, different but recognizable at the same time. It was almost as if it would want to invite us to guess the next part of a sequence.
